hello and welcome. i greet you all with peace.
i want this article to be as informative and succinct as can be, so please pardon the brevity. i'll break out the different purposes into sections, so if there's something in particular that you're interested in, you can skip to that.
i don't claim to be an expert on any of these things, but care enough to have invested time and/or money into them to share what i found to be worthwhile.
anime
i enjoy watching and discussing good anime (or shows), but with our community watching sessions, i found it easier to have a single source of truth for that purpose. you can head to the anime page.
discord
continuing the point from above, discord is an excellent communications tool. if there was ever a feature you wanted, discord probably has it. it's also super convenient for our animondays sessions. for more info on that, you can head to the discord page.
privacy
speaking of discord, it actually is not great for privacy. a couple points, though. first, privacy is not an "all or nothing" state of being. there are multiple stages to privacy. using something like an occasional service or app does not equal the same as using it every day. the data, as well as it's relevance and newness, is what makes it valuable. secondly, i am open to new apps or services that would be a good alternative to discord. if i can get most of the features but in a more privacy-friendly manner, i think it would be worth it, but i have yet to find that solution. thirdly, as i said earlier, i have not claimed to be an expert on the matter, but am slowly making progress where i can to take back my data and privacy.
diy
speaking of being far from an expert, that holds just as true, if not more, for any projects that i've done on my own. i've done some basic woodworking and basic interior renovations, but my main objective here is the "less-polished," and possibly more relatable experience. so for example, painting a wall is pretty straight forward, and in the times i've done it, i didn't learn or solve any unique problem, so it never crossed my mind to showcase it.
not sure if this should be its own heading, but want to post solutions to issues i've had to troubleshoot or couldn't find super clear answers to as well.
sparkling water
we've already probably heard/seen the "people who drink sparkling water" meme. and let's be honest, is it real? probably. but the main purpose of this is for me to try and categorize the different types of sparkling waters so i know what my top ones are, and then i can make recommendations to others. might be worth having a full article or video on this topic at some point, will update this if/when there is.
quality of life
this is kinda a miscellaneous section. awhile back, i was unable to find for specific answers for some products i was interested in buying (a backpack and a litter box). i bought them anyway, and fortunately they serve their purpose great. but if i had unanswered questions, i'm sure other people did, and will. so if i find something useful where i can fill in that gap, then i will.
